About Me

My Approach

I chose to become a psychologist because I believe in the potential and effectiveness of the therapy process. I believe in the innate ability of people to heal, grow, and connect with their inner strengths to overcome challenges. I consider it a privilege to be a part of your journey and I strive to inspire hope and trust as you work toward your goals in therapy.

I offer a therapeutic environment of respectful challenge, acceptance, curiosity, and joy. My style is engaged, authentic, and direct, while holding the space needed for our complete focus on your work at your pace.

Like most things in life, therapy is not a one-size-fits-all undertaking.
I believe that you know yourself better than anyone and that it is crucial to consider the whole person (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, relationship context, etc.,). I integrate skills from several therapeutic approaches (psychodynamic, developmental, transpersonal, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, etc.,) to find the tools that are the best fit for your personality and goals.

My Training

My work is grounded in broad life experience in addition to formal education and training as a therapist and psychologist. I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of New York (license #019295). I have a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute and a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am a graduate of a rigorous postdoctoral training program specializing in Primary Care Family Psychology and Women’s Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

I have been practicing as a therapist since 2003. I have experience with individuals, couples, and families, with people of all ages, and diverse backgrounds. I have worked in a diverse range of settings including:

  • K-8 school

  • Community-based mental health centers
  • Primary care and OB/GYN practices

  • In-patient and out-patient substance abuse treatment
